đŹď¸ Short A.R.C. Awareness Practice
(A 3-Minute Reset Before Any Circle Session)
A.R.C. = Awareness. Reciprocity. Choice.
ARC Awareness is how CCOS resets the field.
Itâs not about meditation or performance, itâs about remembering that bodies make agreements, not words.
When people begin from awareness, reciprocity and choice follow naturally.
Thatâs the difference between a group thatâs productive and a Circle thatâs alive.

Hereâs the short ARC Awareness Practice exactly as itâs used inside CCOS circles - a 3â5 minute grounding sequence that builds the foundation of relational safety before dialogue, decision-making, or purpose definition.
Itâs deceptively simple, but itâs what transforms a meeting into a field
Purpose:
To bring everyoneâs attention from the abstract mind into embodied awareness, so communication and decision-making happen from grounded presence, not projection.
Step 1: Settle (30 seconds)
- Sit or stand comfortably.
- Close your eyes or soften your gaze.
- Take one slow breath in through the nose, one out through the mouth.
- Feel gravity: the weight of your body meeting the ground.
Facilitator voice cue:
âLet your attention drop from your head into your belly.
Let the Circle arrive together through breath.â
Step 2: Sense (60 seconds)
Turn attention inward. Notice without judgment:
- The temperature of your skin.
- The rhythm of your breath.
- Any tension, tingling, or openness in the body.
Prompt:
âWhat sensations tell me yes, no, or not yet right now?â
This step restores somatic literacy - the foundation of all real consent.
Step 3: Scan (45 seconds)
Ask inwardly:
- âHowâs my energy today - full, tired, neutral?â
- âWhat emotion or quality is most present in me right now?â
- âWhat do I need to be fully here?â
You can jot one word down if needed; the goal isnât talking yet, just honesty.
Step 4: Share (60-90 seconds total)
Go around the Circle (one sentence each):
âWhatâs alive in me right now is ______.â
No discussion. No fixing.
Just witnessing.
The Rep Steward or Facilitator nods and keeps rhythm.
Step 5: Seal (15 seconds)
Group takes one synchronized inhale and exhale together.
Eyes open.
âWe begin from awareness.â
đ§ Notes for Facilitators
- Keep it under five minutes unless itâs a deep retreat setting.
- Never interpret othersâ shares; the magic is in witnessing.
- If the energy feels heavy afterward, invite one light shake or stretch.
- Use before governance, conflict resolution, or purpose work - anywhere presence matters more than speed.
COMING SOON - Â expanded âARC Awareness + Reciprocity + Choiceâ facilitator micro-guide - a 10-minute opening sequence for use in deeper sessions or retreats.
